Office Ergonomics
Service Description:
This service is available in the Los Angeles region. I provide posture assessments for employees in both sitting and standing positions. The process begins with a one-hour informative lecture that explains the importance of proper posture and the effects of poor posture on the body. Following the lecture, I schedule 15-20 minute individual appointments with each employee to assess their sitting or standing posture at their desk, along with a gait analysis, to provide personalized ergonomic adjustments. This service can also be offered at home offices.
Qualifications:
Degree: Kinesiology with an Emphasis on Exercise Science, California State University
Experience: Several years working in different Physical Therapy offices, specializing in posture assessment and ergonomic adjustments.
Noelle’s Background:
As a teenager, I often slouched in chairs, not realizing the long-term effects this could have on my body. Through my Kinesiology studies and Pilates certification, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of alignment and the role posture plays in overall well-being. Developing self-awareness about how you carry yourself throughout the day is critical for maintaining proper function and preventing discomfort and cronic injury. Many of my clients who experience hip, back, neck, or shoulder pain do so because of poor posture, often from prolonged sitting. Fortunately, with my anatomy knowledge, we can strengthen and condition your muscles to support correct posture and heal injuries.
Noelle’s Philosophy:
Our core muscles are naturally designed to support our bodies throughout the day, as they consist primarily of slow-twitch fibers that are resistant to fatigue. These muscles should remain engaged to keep us upright. If you spend your day sitting, standing, or walking with poor posture, your muscles relax, and gravity starts to negatively affect your alignment. Over time, this leads to pain and discomfort. Training your muscles to maintain proper posture is essential to avoid these issues.
Costs:
One-hour lecture: $100
15-20 minute individual ergonomic assessment and gait analysis: $30 per assessment
